Absent: Tracy Ventura, Debbie Salewski

Ray Gottwald was unable to attend this meeting.  He was invited so the Board could thank him for his long service to the COA.

Director’ Report: Barbara-Anne Foley reported gingerbread houses and bird houses had been donated to give to our seniors. The Christmas Giving tree was up and people were taking the shells to donate gifts of food cards, CVS, gas, hair cuts etc.
Barbara-Anne said she was trying to get a skin care Doctor to speak at the Volunteer Luncheon (May 10, 2012) and give out sunscreen tubes as the volunteer gift. The Board unanimously voted to book a doctor and to order the sunscreen tubes.  Discussion was held to have complimentary “have lunch on us” cards printed to give to new seniors to try our congregate meals.  We will also put them in the new member packets.
The Board decided to put into the newsletter suggestions to donate to meals, exercise, pedicure, etc.
EPOCH of Harwich took in a lady that had no heat during storm.  The Red Cross found lodging for a mother and her three children that had a fire issue (CO).  Need to put in newsletter information about smoke alarm and CO detectors are only good for 10 years and then need replacing.

Strategic Plan update-Lee Culver stated they held a meeting on December 6.  The committee is still working on plan for lower level basement and weight room. Need to educate the public on statistics and plans for the lower level.  Have Tracy Ventura put out PR.

Friends of COA report: Jack Brown reported the Friends will donate $3000 in gift cards for seniors from S&S and Shaws. Friends are holding a High School Holiday Sing-a-long on December 14 from 12:15 to 12:45 at the Community Center.  The Family Pantry reported they had the largest numbers of families ever.
Treasurer’s report: The report was reviewed and discussed.

Old Business: Francois Marin reminded the Board that a new representative needs to be appointed to Elder Services.

ADJOURN: Lee Culver moved to adjourn at 10:50, Francois Marin seconded.

The next meeting will be held in Room #1 at the Community Center at 9:30 on January 4, 2012.
