MEETING MINUTES

Town Hall Library

Tuesday, January 10, 2017 @ 6:30 pm

Call to Order

 

Chairman Howell called the meeting to order @ 6:35pm.

 

Approval of Minutes

 

Minutes from the September 20, 2016 meeting were tabled.

 

Old Business

 

Don Howell recapped the items discussed at the November Board of Selectman’s (BOS) meeting. The seven items included the Wastewater Superintendent’s position; the role of BOS liaison; Sandra Hall’s proposal for a Compliance Oversight Committee; the role of the Bylaw/Charter Committee; and the Kopelman & Paige amendments.

 

Don Howell distributed a two-page document outlining proposed amendments to the Harwich Home Rule Charter to be approved by the voters at the next annual Town Meeting. Those sections include Chapter 3 section 7, Prohibitions; Chapter 7 subsection 7-1-2, Advertising of Vacancies and Appointing Town Agencies; Chapter 7 subsection 7-2-2, General Provisions; Chapter 7 subsection 7-5-1, Planning Board; and Chapter 7 subsection 7-13-2, Golf Committee. Each of these amendments were reviewed in detail and there were a few suggested edits. These will be rewritten and brought before the Committee at its next meeting.

 

 

New Business

 

No new business was discussed.

 

The Committee agreed to meet again on January 17, 2017 @ 6:30pm.

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:29pm.
