Council on Aging Board of Directors Meeting
HARWICH COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING
JULY 6, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Chair Adrienne Johnson at 9:30.
Attendance: Adrienne Johnson, Joe Johnson, Ralph Smith, Lee Culver, Mike Smith, Jim Mangan, & Barbara-Anne Foley
Absent: Richard Waystack
Minutes: Amendment was made and accepted to correct attendance in minutes to read Lee Culver was not in attendance. Jim Mangan move to accept and Ralph Smith seconded.
Treasurer’s Report: The yearend budget spreadsheet was reviewed.
Director’s Report: Barbara-Anne Foley stated a Harwich Cultural Council grant funded an event Longevity Secrets of the Okinawans to be held on July 19th.
A Housing Summit will be held on September 26th to inform public of the options and assistance available in moving to senior living, Assisted Living Homes, etc. A committee was formed for this event. Members are Barbara-Anne Foley, Adrienne Johnson, Joe Johnson, Rich Waystack and Nicole Muller. Kevin Grunwald will be a consultant.
Barbara-Anne informed the board of a volunteer recognition cookout to be held August 5th at the Community Center.
Barbara-Anne Foley stated the Emergency Management volunteers will be needed on November 4th for the election.
The Board agreed to send a letter to the BOS in support of the Middle School being used for Senior Housing.
Lee Culver moved to adjourn and Ralph Smith seconded at 10:35
The next meeting will be held in Room #5 at the Community Center at 9:30 on August 3, 2016.
