Council on Aging Board of Directors Meeting
HARWICH COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 12, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Chair Adrienne Johnson at 9:10.
Attendance: Adrienne Johnson, Joe Johnson, Ralph Smith, and Richard Waystack.
Kevin Grunwald & Barbara-Anne Foley
Absent: Lee Culver, Jim Mangan & Mike Smith
Minutes: Joe Johnson moved to accept minutes as written and Rich Waystack seconded.
Treasurer’s Report: The budget was reviewed.
Director’s Report: A discussion was held regarding the focus group for program ideas. We need to get the message out to more groups for more input.
October 17 is the staff flu clinic.
October 18 is the training for the emergency management team to work the Presidential Election on November 8, 2016.
The Housing summit was well received. Over 100 people attended including presenters, staff and volunteers. Evaluations of the summit were reviewed. It was suggested to invite housing agencies from other towns to the next summit. Many ideas were discussed to add to the next time on how to expand on the information given.
The Town Administrator, Assistant Town Administrator and the Chairman of the BOS will be invited to the next Board meeting in November.
Barbara-Anne Foley will send a recap of the summit to the BOS.
Joe Johnson made a motion to plan a second two hour summit in January and then monthly one hour meetings on a particular subject. It was passed with a unanimous vote.
Friends Report: President Jack Brown was not in attendance.
Rich Waystack moved to adjourn and Joe Johnson seconded at 10:03.
The next meeting will be held in Room #5 at the Community Center at 9:30 on November 2, 2016.
