Council on Aging Board of Directors Meeting
HARWICH COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING
APRIL 5, 2017
The meeting was called to order by Chair Adrienne Johnson at 9:30.
Attendance: Adrienne Johnson, Joe Johnson, Ralph Smith, Lee Culver, Richard Waystack, Jim Mangan & Barbara-Anne Foley
Absent: Mike Smith
Guest: Jack Brown, President FCOA and Atty. Lisa Sherman
Minutes: Richard Waystack moved to accept minutes of March 1, 2017 and Lee Culver seconded.
Jack Brown gave an update on the repurposing of the FCOA funds.
Atty Sherman stated two things have happened.
- The Pleading was filed with the Barnstable County Registrar Clerk
- The Atty General has been in touch with her with his ideas and has assented to everything they had filed.
Rich Waystack made a motion to reiterate the long standing support by the COA for the proposed repurposing of funds as stated in the most recently amended complaint. Passed by a unanimous vote.
Treasurer’s Report: The budget was reviewed.
Director’s Report: Barbara-Anne Foley reported the Housing Summit went well. The plan is to hold a summit once a month on two topics with two speakers for ½ hour each.
The Cemetery Director’s office will be moved soon to the COA Department. Barbara-Anne gave a reminder about the volunteer luncheon.
Barbara-Anne announced we will hold a Women’s Breakfast sponsored by the Woodlands.
The Board discussed some issues with difficult people and how to handle them. Barbara-Anne will meet with the Deputy Police Chief about this and report back to the Board next month.
Rich Waystack moved to adjourn and Lee Culver seconded at 10:45.
The next meeting will be held at the Community Center at 9:30 on May 3, 2017.
