City and Town Notification for Roadway Work

MassDOT will be conducting work in your community in the near future.  The following project information is being forwarded to you for distribution to affect City/Town Departments.

Project Location (City/Town):   SANDWICH to EASTHAM Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway)

Estimated Start Date of Work:  September 16, 2018

Project Type:  Fabrication and Installation of Ground Mounted Guide and Traffic Signs along a Section of Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway).

Description of Work: Fabrication and Installation of regulatory signs along a Section of Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway).ramps on overhead bridges (sign mounting) and secondary roadways.

Sight distance clearing (vegetation trimming) at sign locations.

Hours of Operation (Night):  Work will begin Sunday September 16, 2018  Night operations Sunday (9 pm) through Thursday 9 pm to 5 am (end Friday  morning) The work is weather dependent.

 Description of Traffic Management:  Exit 2 to 9 a rolling traffic setup/ lane closure will be utilized, Exit 9 to Orleans Rotary the approved detour plan will be implemented as needed. All roadwork will have police details, cones, drums, signage, crash trucks and lighting towers. 

Estimated Duration of Work:  September 16, 2018 to April 16, 2019

All work to date has not impacted traffic and is expected to continue smoothly.
