VOTER INFORMATION COMMITTEE

MINUTES

JANUARY 18, 2017

I.          Call to Order

            The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:40 PM.

II.        Approval of Minutes

            Approval of the minutes of November 9, 2016 was deferred until the February meeting.

III.       Citizens Leadership Academy

            Discussion was deferred until a future meeting.

IV.       January 18, 2017 Committee Recruiting Event

            The Chair passed out the current spreadsheet of committees, chairs and email address.       Acceptances by committee chairs are still being received.  The Chair will attend the next            Board of Selectmen meeting to publicize the event and ask the Selectmen to encourage    the committees that they are the liaison to attend the fair.  She will also ask if there are             funds available to pay for coffee and sweets at the event.  There will be applications,    committee handbooks  and other related handouts available at the fair. 

V.        Spring Programming

            The dates for the committee spring programs are as follows:  Financial State of Harwich,   April111, Pretown Meeting Discussion of Warrant Articles, April 25 and if necessary, a        Candidates Debate on May 9 with the League of Women Voters moderating.

VI.       Web Page

            Ms. Milan will create an email address specifically for the Voter Information Committee.              She will also post information about the recruiting event on the committee webpage and          remove outdated information from it.

VII.     Conflict of Interest

            The committee members who were present signed the Conflict of Interest statement.

VIII.    Annual Town Report

            The Chair has submitted the committee’s annual report which is due on January 23.

IX.       Adjourn

            There being no further business, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:35 PM.
