MEETING MINUTES  

Monday, November 28, 2016   5:45 p.m.   Albro House, Harwich

Followed by annual report to the Board of Selectmen

In attendance:  Sheila House, Julia Eldredge, Brooke Canada, Jim Hartley

• Meeting called to order at 6:07 p.m.
• Approved minutes of the October meeting. Julia E. moved, Brooke seconded.
• Youth Counselors Report-
  • My Choice Matters Parenting to Prevent Substance Abuse Summit on November 20^th was attended to full capacity. Keynote speaker was Dr. Ruth Potee, who spoke about what makes young people vulnerable to substance abuse/addiction and then parents went to one of 3 different workshops, depending on the age of their child.
  • Sheila attended the annual Leadership Lock-In on Friday November 18^th at MRHS. Students, including Peer Leaders, began developing a marketing campaign for the school with the mission of creating a more inclusive, loving and supportive school environment.
• “Junior Ed” enrichment classes for 8^th graders. Sheila will meet with Brooke, Deborah Hemeon and hopefully a few kids, to talk about ideas for classes
• Viewing of the film SCREENAGERS will be moved to Wednesday march 22^nd because of time shortage in planning.
• Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.

Next meeting is Monday, December 19^th at 5:00 p.m.  Albro House
