Seaweed and Algae Forum
The Blue Institute at Cape Cod Bay will host a Seaweed and Algae Forum on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

Guest speakers include:

  • Gil Newton, Adjunct Professor at Cape Cod Community College and Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Board Member of the Blue Institute, retired Director and Founder of the Sandwich Stem Academy, Author of many books on coastal ecology with the latest being on Seaweed. Newton will discuss a general overview of Seaweed and Algae.
  • Brian Bradington-Smith, President of AquaGen Infrastructure Systems, Inc., Yarmouth. Bradington-Smith will discuss Seaweed and Algae for cleaning water and creating energy
  • Heinz Proft, Natural Resources Director, Town of Harwich. Proft explains, “What is an algae bloom, why do they happen and when should we be worried?”

The Blue Institute is a registered nonprofit 501(C)(3) located on Cape Cod in the Harwich Cultural Center and a second location sharing oceanfront space with the Blue Incubator in Plymouth, Massachusetts. More information at https://blueinstitute.org/.
