Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Plan: Here's How You Can Help!

The Town of Harwich is hosting a community workshop to understand how the Town is impacted by natural hazards and a changing climate, and to develop priority actions to improve our community’s resilience to these threats. At the workshop, attendees will identify the top hazards facing Harwich, the community’s strengths and vulnerabilities, and specific actions to improve the Town’s resilience to these hazards. This stakeholder workshop is part of the Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program, which provides support for cities and towns in Massachusetts to begin the process of planning for climate change resiliency and implementing priority projects. Following completion of the workshop and a summary of findings, the Town of Harwich will be designated as an MVP community, making it eligible for MVP Action Grant and other funding opportunities to implement the actions identified through the workshop process.

Community participation in the workshop will help ensure broad representation of interests. The workshop will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Harwich Cultural Center, 204 Sisson Road, Harwich, MA 02645.
