SHINE Counseling at the Harwich Council on Aging

Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone (SHINE) is a program that provides free health insurance information, counseling, and assistance to Massachusetts residents with Medicare and their caregivers. SHINE counselors can help beneficiaries navigate the complex health insurance system, explain various Medicare options, compare program costs, and help people with limited resources enroll in programs that help pay health insurance costs.

For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, SHINE counselors are taking in person appointments at the Harwich Council on Aging. Appointments are available Thursday mornings beginning September 23rd and are free and confidential.

Please note, these initial appointments are not for Medicare Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment runs from October 15th through December 7th. The COA will announce dedicated Open Enrollment appointments with SHINE counselors in the coming weeks.
