NEW BUSINESS: Hi John and Heinz,
Please forward this on to the Waterways committee as well. The Harwich Conservation Commission is going to have a public meeting to discuss potential changes to the Wetland Protection Bylaw as well as the Water Dependent Structures Bylaw, on Friday January 17th at 10am in the small hearing room of town hall. The legal ad should be in the paper today. The goal is to clarify the existing bylaw and strengthen it to hopefully lead to more consistency. We welcome and encourage yourselves and the waterways committee to attend. We are going to try to draft language for an amendment to the respective bylaws for town meeting. At this moment, I am still compiling suggestions on language revisions from the board, as well as researching the bylaws of other towns, so I don’t have draft language to share yet for you. I expect there to be some proposed changes on required depths at the float, language on ‘improvement’ dredging, a set list of criteria for shellfish surveys, etc. I hope you and members of the committee can join us.

Conservation Administrator
