Mass Cultural Council "Listening" Meeting

The Mass Cultural Council is convening a series of regional “listening” meetings to learn about the status of rehearsal, production, and artist workspaces in Massachusetts. The focus will be on places where artists/makers/performers work, rehearse and produce, not necessarily the places where the public goes to see/experience the work, although there’s not always a clear distinction between these spaces.

MCC Cultural Facilities Fund Program Director, Jay Paget will talk about the current environment of artist workspaces in your region, how stable they are, what resources are in place to support them and what kind of resources are needed going forward. He will also highlight state-wide programs already in place and hope to learn what local resources have been helpful in your efforts.

Who should attend?
This meeting is for those who tangibly support creative workspaces, which includes but is not limited to: artist workspace operators, owners, developers, artists, funders, municipalities, community members and any who work to support and advance artist work spaces in Massachusetts.

Please RSVP via this link.

As part of this work, MCC is conducting a survey. The aim is to further understand the successes and challenges of maintaining and developing creative spaces, and to share what we learn with a network of interested parties. Please take the survey and feel free to forward it to anyone who creates, operates or supports artist workspaces.
