Notice

This summer, we had an additional and an unusually-late nest of Piping Plovers hatch at Red River Beach.  Due to this, the symbolic fencing and concrete barricades have had to be up much longer than usual. We appreciate the patience of the public, as the Town is obligated to follow State and Federal Laws when it comes to protecting this threatened species.  The Town hopes that the birds achieve flight by the first or second week of August, and at this point the barricades and the symbolic fencing will be removed.
