VOTER INFORMATION COMMITTEE

MINUTES

MAY 20, 2015

Members Present:        Chris Joyce, Chair

Others:                         Peter Hughes, Committee Liaison, Board of Selectmen

I.          Call to Order

            The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM.

II.        Approval of Minutes

            Ms. Rys moved to approve the minutes of April 28, 2015 and May 12, 2015 as written;           Ms. Joyce seconded; motion carried unanimously.

III.       Recap – Recent 2015 Programming

            Many positive comments were received about the committee’s programs.  Suggestions were to include a representative from Cape Cod Tech as part of the financial state           program and to hold the meet the candidates forum earlier.  A debate format will be   explored.

IV.       Committee Handbook Status

            Selectmen Peter Hughes advised that because of the situation in the Town        Administrator’s office, work on the handbook had slowed.  Sandy Robinson is now able      to devote time to it again.

V.        Voter Information Committee Membership

            The Chair has been advised that a couple of people have expressed an interest in joining           the committee and will be interviewed.

VI.       Other

            Ms. Rys advised that she had not heard back from the person in Barnstable regarding their Citizen’s Academy but that she hopes to have a response.  The committee explained      to Mr. Hughes what the committee would like to do with the proposal and hoped that it     was something that would have the support of the Board of Selectmen.

VII.     Adjourn

            There being no further business, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:35 PM.
