HARWICH COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING AGENDA

Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 9:30 a.m.

Location: 100 Oak Street, Harwich, MA. 02645 Harwich Community Center Room #1

  1. Welcome– Adrienne Johnson

  1.       Minutes Review

  1.       Treasurer’s Report

  1.       COA Directors Report

  • June 8th joint Mtg. with Friends. COA Board will meet first at 9:30 a.m. and join the Friends for their meeting at 10:00 a.m.

  • Wrap Up of Volunteer Recognition Event

  • We have hired a Part Time van Driver (providing physical etc are all passed) Gerald Golia. He drives for 2 other COA’s on the Lower Cape and has all trainings already from RTA and his CPR/AED is valid through 2017. He will double up with Remi our Per Diem for local training for Harwich before starting on his own. We also would like to add an additional per diem Van Driver Marietta Maloney, as Remi Thibodeau, currently our only per diem Driver is away at different times throughout the year and this new driver has 2 days he can’t cover beyond our schedule of hours for him. This next step makes sense for that reason.

  • We are working on hiring 3 Per Diem Cooks who will be able to cover vacation/sick/personal time for our Chef Linda St. Pierre. Marietta Maloney, Charlotta Rusher and Maria Cecchi (who is working part time in Orleans COA but could cover a day here or there for us if needed.) They will not become official until July with the new fiscal year when we have them in the COA Budget

  • The Friends of the Harwich Council on Aging need new Board Members-a great opportunity for anyone who is new to town or wanting to be involved in something but not have to devote a huge amount of time.

  • Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. is the next “Remembery Walk-Dave Birtwell Memorial” starting at Brooks Park. Please join us if you are able! The new recipient of the funds is Alzheimer’s Family Support Center of Cape Cod (a Non-Profit-501C3) with Molly Perdue and Melanie Braverman. If the “Wine Tasting & Chocolate Party” are any indication of the turnout and energy put into assisting us it will be another HUGE success as the Wine Tasting event was-(72 attendees!).

     5.         Old Business

     6.         New Business

Next Mtg. PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE: Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and joining the Friends of the Harwich COA at 10:00 a.m.
