North Harwich Water update and flushing instructions for homeowners 4/10/2024 5:39PM

Update 4/10/2024 6:19PM: To avoid any confusion, please understand that the affected area in North Harwich remains in a Do Not Drink order until such time, that the all clear is given from the lab. The Water Department, is anticipating an update from the Lab tomorrow afternoon, we appreciate your patience during this time.

Update 4/10/2024 5:39PM: The Water Department has completed an extensive flushing of the water distribution system in the impacted area, to ensure your water service & home are properly flushed, residents in the affected area are being asked to run all, interior & exterior cold water taps simultaneously for approximately 10 minutes, once completed, hot water fixtures should be run until the water runs cold ensuring a full flushing of the homes hot water tank. Homes with tankless water heaters should run all hot water fixtures simultaneously for 10 minutes.

Distribution of bottled water is available for those in the affected area of North Harwich until 7pm this evening at the Family Pantry, located at 133 Queen Anne Road.

Bottled water will also be available for pickup tomorrow April 11th at the Harwich Treasure Chest adjacent to the disposal area at 209 Queen Anne Road, between the hours of 10am-2pm. Water will also be available for pickup during the hours of 2pm-6pm, at the rear of the Fire Station at 175 Sisson Rd.

For residents in the affected area unable to travel to the pickup location, please contact 508-767-5613 to coordinate delivery/drop off.
