VOTER INFORMATION COMMITTEE
MINUTES
MAY 18, 2016

I. Call to Order
The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:39 PM.
II. Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Ms. Rys moved to approve the minutes of April 13, 19 and 28, 2016 as written; Ms. Joyce seconded and motion carried unanimously.
III. Committee Handbook Status
The Chair advised that the committee handbook had been approved by the Board of Selectmen at their meeting on May 16, 2016. Approval was subject to change regarding remote attendance at committee meetings. It will be up on town’s website.
IV. Board and Committee Vacancies
This will be pursued once the Board of Selectmen has reorganized and committee liaisons appointed.
V. Citizens Leadership Academy
This will be taken up when the committee resumes meeting in the fall.
VI. Review of Voter Information Committee Programs
The financial forum participants were well prepared and lots of information was provided. The candidates debate format worked well. The committee thought Judy Thomas was a great moderator. For future pretown meetings, assignment of articles should be better organized.
V. Web Page
It was suggested by the Chair that the committee post biographies of the candidates for election on the web page. She received a call from a voter asking where she could find that information.

VI. Committee Meetings
The Chair will poll the members regarding any change to the committee’s meeting dates.
VII. Adjourn
There being no further business, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:20 PM.
