Tax Bill Information

IMPORTANT BILLING INFORMATION!!!

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGES TO YOUR TAX BILL!

In an effort to reduce ever increasing postage costs, beginning with fiscal year 2021 the July mailing contains your preliminary tax bill along with payment coupons for BOTH the August and November payments. Likewise, the bill you receive in January will include payment coupons for BOTH February and May. You will not receive another bill for the November or May due dates, so please keep those payment stubs in a safe place and mark your calendars to remind you of the payments due. Additionally, you can sign up for email and/or text reminders at https://www.harwich-ma.gov/subscribe.

The fiscal tax year is July 1 to June 30. Below are the dates that the tax bills are issued and the penalties for paying late.

July 1: First and second quarter preliminary bills for Real Estate and Personal Property taxes issued. 1st & 2nd quarters may be paid together, but payment should be received by August 1st to avoid penalty on the first quarter.

August 1: First quarter Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes Due.

November 1: Second Quarter Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes Due.

January 1: Third and fourth quarter actual bills for Real Estate and Personal Property taxes issued. 3rd & 4th quarters may be paid together, but payment should be received by February 1st to avoid penalty on the third quarter.
