Wastewater Implementation Committee (WIC)

September 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

Attendees:

WIC Members: Peter de Bakker, Allin Thompson, Danette Gonsalves, Heinz Proft, Chris Harlow, and Bob Cafarelli.

Others: Noreen Donahue – Finance Committee Liaison, Larry Ballantine – Selectmen’s Liaison

Summary:

Selectman Larry Ballantine called to order the first meeting of the Wastewater Implementation Committee (WIC) at 7:00 p.m. with the purpose of nominating Committee leaders.  First a discussion of committee membership which is to be comprised of 7 members occurred; five community volunteers appointed by the Board of Selectmen (BOS) and 2 town staff assigned by the Town Administrator.  The community volunteers are to serve three year terms.  The following nominations and votes were then taken:

• Allin Thompson nominated Peter de Bakker as Chairman, Chris Harlow 2^nd motion, Vote 5-0-1 (de Bakker).
• Chairman Peter de Bakker nominated Chris Harlow as Vice Chairman.  Danette Gonsalves 2^nd motion. Vote 5-0-1 (Harlow). 
• Chairman Peter de Bakker nominated Allin Thompson as Clerk, Chris Harlow 2^nd motion.  Vote 5-0-1 (Thompson).

Discussion was made regarding the purpose of the committee, scope of major responsibilities, and reporting to Board of Selectmen via semi or quarterly reports.  The committee will also provide annual updates to the 7-year Capital Outlay Committee and to the Finance Committee prior to Annual Town Meeting Warrant.

Meeting times and location were discussed. Meetings will be held on the 3^rd Wednesday of the month at 9:30 AM.

Motion to adjourn meeting at 8:30 p.m. by Danette Gonsalves; 2^nd by Allin Thompson,

Vote 6-0-0.

Next meeting October 15^th at 9:30 a.m.
