HISTORY OF BURIAL GROUND
This cemetery was started in conjunction with the first Baptist Church in the town, located in North Harwich. The first meeting house stood in the old burying ground. A second church was built in 1804 and stood some rods south of the cemetery. It was moved to West Harwich in 1828 to the site of the present church building, taken down in 1841 when the present church was erected.
